v1.0 Release - April 2026

2026-04-30

We released MycoVirome Platform v1.0 with a curated Botrytis cinerea mycovirus dataset, incorporating >500 compiled mycoviral genome records from public repositories and literature. This update improves metadata consistency (accessions, genome type/segmentation, and reported host context) and strengthens the dataset as a reusable reference for comparative analyses.

We also offer a virus-discovery-characterization workflow and the organization of genome configuration diversity views, helping users explore viral families and genome architectures interactively. These updates support our goal of positioning B. cinerea as a model system for studying global mycovirus diversity.

New Analysis Tools Available

New analysis resources are now available via the Download link. The workflow supports virus discovery from fungal metatranscriptomes, followed by classification of identified viral contigs using phylogenetics and curated reference alignments.

We designed a pipeline for SLURM-based HPC environments. It includes family-level reference alignments (based on viruses previously reported in B. cinerea) and phylogenetic trees for reference and downstream interpretation. Users can visualize alignments and inspect the placement of newly discovered contigs relative to known viral families.
